Amazon disclosed a number of layoffs in its gaming division earlier this week, and now those cuts are apparently affecting the team behind New World: Aeternum. Following the recently released Season 10: Nighthaven update, there will be no more new content released for New World: Aeternum.

"After four years of steady content updates and a major new console release, we've reached a point where it is no longer sustainable to continue supporting the game with new content updates," today's update states.

New World Aeternum is shutting down development of future content updates, but will remain online through 2026, Amazon Games has announced.
