Earlier this year, four Asian small-clawed otters (3 girls and 1 boy) were born to parents Jay and Clover at SeaWorld Orlando as part of a Species Survival Program. The kits are doing well, showing interest in enrichment items like ice, and are learning to eat fish on their own. Rescue, rehabilitate, and release: these are the primary goals for the Monterey Bay Aquarium’s sea otter program. Surrogate sea otters play a key role in getting rescued pups back into the wild.
